Common Questions on Giving
Why Give? Everything comes from Yah. Everything belongs to Yah. Whether you bring your tithe as a step of obedience or contribute to a ministry as an act of generosity, your money will result in more return here than any other place in the world—a return evident in lives changed.
Your contributions will help spread Messiah’s message of hope and healing to so many people and places—around the corner and around the world. From giving a single gift to scheduling an on-going contribution, you continue to facilitate our desire to do justice, love mercy& walk humbly with our Yah (Micah 6:8).
Should I Give off My Gross or Net Earnings? Scripture doesn’t use the literal terms "gross" or "net." It's more important to note that the spirit in which we give is of greatest value to Yah. He tells us in 2 Corinthians 9:7 that "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give; not reluctantly or under compulsion, for Yah loves a cheerful giver."
Is Online Giving Secure? Absolutely - Security is our top priority. We understand that you may be concerned about privacy and security issues surrounding the use of the internet for giving contributions. We have partnered with PAYACHARITY - a company that works with thousands of charities just like ours to provide a secure, encrypted online system which is monitored and tested daily.
Is My Information Kept Private? Absolutely! The online giving form requires personal information none of which we store but which is dealt with by PAYA encrypted and secure database. We do not rent, sell or share ANY of your personal information with ANY third-party for ANY reason.
What Methods Can I Use to Give Online? For your convenience, you may use a credit or debit card to give online. You may also use a debit card that features a Visa or Mastercard symbol.
Why Does POF Accept Credit Cards? It's a great question. If POF is concerned about helping people reduce their debt why do we allow giving with debit & credit cards?
Used within the appropriate parameters, debit and credit cards can be an efficient tool for payments and purchases. Many people use them in place of cheques or cash throughout the month, and then payoff the balance in full. For these people, we offer the option of using a debit or credit card to give. We strongly discourage those who have ongoing credit card debt from exercising this option.
Additionally, we host a program to help individuals and families become debt free. How would your life change if you were debt free? What could you do? Who could you help? Get control of your money by putting together a spending plan that really works. Since it’s your money, we cannot tell you what to do, our goal is simply to seek to teach, train and encourage others to exercise good stewardship over their finances.
